Description

Released by Taito in 1988, Replicart is an ambitious title that blends the rules of the classic "Snake" game with mechanical aesthetics and unique action elements. Players control the long, serpentine "Replicart" machine as they navigate labyrinthine bases constructed by alien lifeforms threatening 21st-century Earth. Collecting "Bite Slimes" is the main objective, but the game is elevated by tricky "tank-style" controls and a variety of hidden stage items that demand deep strategy. It stands as a hidden gem of the 8-bit PC era, offering a simple yet surprisingly profound game design.

Story

In the late 21st century, extraterrestrial creatures known as "Salandra"—serpentine beings that have built massive underground bases—have invaded Earth to plunder its resources. To fight back, humanity developed the Replicart, a combat machine designed with a similar form to navigate the enemy's tunnels. Players take on the role of a young pilot named Dick, who must maneuver the machine deep into the labyrinth to defeat the Salandra and save the planet.
