TO・KY・O

Released by Starcraft in July 1987, "To-Ky-O" is the third installment in the popular Jamie Star series. The game incorporated a turn-based system where the player and enemies act alternately, injecting fresh strategic elements into the RPG genre of the time. It is characterized by its gritty post-apocalyptic setting in Japan and a meticulous attention to detail, such as the inclusion of real-world knife models as weapons. This title is preserved in our museum as an iconic and unique RPG that remains beloved by retro PC gaming fans.

Following a nuclear attack by the Soviet Union during the Cold War, Japan lost its national functionality and was transformed into "Touki-koku" (the Kingdom of Fighting Spirit) under the coup of former JSDF officer Ezaki. Twenty-five years later, a protagonist and special operative working under orders from the American CIA is sent into the ruined Shibuya area to thwart the ambitions of the dictator "Touki-o," who plans to achieve eternal youth through brain transplants. Using strategic turn-based maneuvers, the player will explore the chaotic land of Touki-koku and fight to restore peace to the nation.
