Description

Released in 1990 for the Sharp X68000, *Yami no Ketsuzoku* (The Predestined Homicides) stands as a notable entry in System Sacom’s "Novelware" series, which pushed the boundaries of visual storytelling in early Japanese computer games. The narrative follows apparel designer Miyu Izawa as she investigates a series of gruesome murders, eventually uncovering a sinister connection to the South American deity, Kuma-ha. Featuring a compelling mystery that culminates in a journey to Mexico, the game is recognized for its early integration of cinematic, scenario-synchronized animations. It remains a significant example of the platform's graphical capabilities and the evolution of the dedicated adventure game genre.

Story

The story begins when Miyu Izawa, a talented young fashion designer in Shinjuku, is thrust into a nightmare after her close friend and fellow model, Marie, is found dead with all of her blood mysteriously drained. As more gruesome murders follow, Miyu uses her uncanny intuition to uncover a disturbing connection between the victims. Her investigation eventually leads her to discover an ancient secret involving the worship of a South American deity known as Kumaha. Driven to find the truth behind these tragedies, she embarks on a dangerous journey to Mexico to confront the source of this darkness.
